"In a time of industrial production process and mass consumption, there is no place for traditional handicrafts. The knowledge of needlework is disappearing”. To put these crafts into a new light, a documentary has been made during the Dutch Design Week 2004 of needlework made by elderly people. The documentary Needle And Thread | Traditional Handcrafts shows the diversity of techniques from the elderly people passing it on to the next generation.
