Paper Zoo | MU | Eindhoven 17 - 25 October 2009
Every city deserves a zoo, including Eindhoven. Not just any zoo, but a special one. A zoo with animals that haven’t been snatched away from their natural habitat but one full of weird and wonderful animals. Not made of flesh and blood but out of paper.
MU presents Paper Zoo, a playful exhibition during the Dutch Design Week. This exhibition consisting out of mutant and extinct animals are all made out of paper. A zoo with animals that haven’t been snatched away from their natural habitat but one full of weird and wonderful animals.
Studio Jo Meesters created The Pumiceus Caris, an animal mostly found at atolls, living on the shore, hidden beneath rocks and lava flows. In Pacific mythology Pumiceus Caris is a holy animal born from the volcanoes, because of its black colour and lava like body.
